ELP - Sets 11 to 22
- Daddy - Daddy. Sequenced by Ken Taylor.
- Dreamrun - Dream Runner. From the album "Best Revenge". Sequenced by Ken Taylor. Brilliant!
- Hoedown1 - Hoedown. Gary Tepel took the version of this page and gave us back the "Trilogy" version :)
- Hornpipe - Bach Before the Mast - Part 2. As played by Keith Emerson on the album "Honky". Sequenced by Ken
Taylor (of course).
- Knifedge - Knife Edge. If I had a dollar for every time this was requested, I would be rich! Sequenced by Mike Le
Voi and Gary Tepel. Turn it up loud!
- Stepasid - Step Aside. Emerson, Lake and Powell. Sequenced by Ken Taylor (vocals, keyboards) and Mike Le Voi
(Bass, Drums and GS mixing).
- Hangon2D - Hang on to a Dream. NICE (of course!). Sequenced by Ken Taylor. Vocals, Chorus, Mixing etc Mike
Le Voi.
Memoirs of an Officer and Gentleman
Sequenced by Ken Taylor. Some Drums, Mixing etc Mike Le Voi.
- Memoirs1 - The Prologue/The Education of a Gentleman
- Memoirs2 - Love at First Site
- Memoirs3 - Letters from the Front
- Memoirs4 - Honorable Company (A March). This song was sequenced for a Roland M-GS64 and thus will not play
back properly on any synth with less than 64 note polphony!
- Abaddono - Abaddon's Bolero. Orchestral Version. Sequenced by Ken Taylor and Mike Le Voi.
- Abaddons - Abaddon's Bolero. Trilogy Version. Sequenced by Ken Taylor and Mike Le Voi. Turn it up LOUD! This
track will probably not play back correctly on an original Sound Canvas as it uses M-GS64 patches.
- Brsalad - Brain Salad Surgery. Sequenced by Ken Taylor. GS Mixing by Mike Le Voi.
- Silent - Silent Night. Sequenced by Ken Taylor.
- Tank2 - Tank. Ken Taylor took my version and gave me back a decent Clav track and Moog solo.
Picture1 - Pictures at an Exhibition. Side 1 of the album. Sequenced by:
Promenade, The Gnome (Ken Taylor)
Promenade, The Sage (Utamaro and Mike Le Voi)
Old Castle, Blues Variation (Antoine Fafard and Ken Taylor, Mike Le Voi)
Production: Mike Le Voi
Also included in this collection:
- Show_me - Show me the way to go home. Sequenced by Ken Taylor. Mixed by Mike Le Voi.
- Talkin - Talkin 'bout.. Sequenced by Jim Humphrey and Mike Le Voi. A gutsy remix of the Emerson, Berry and
Palmer classic off this page.
- Timeplac - Time and a place. Sequenced by Ken Taylor. Mixed by Mike Le Voi
Please note: Pictures at an Exhibition was sequenced for Roland GS (SC-88) and XG modules. If your synth does not
support the XG controllers (for example, CC 71 and CC 74), you will not get the nice "wah-wah" effects :(
- FanfareK - Fanfare for the Common Man. Sequenced by Hand's On, Mike Le Voi and Ken Taylor (Emerson's
solo!). This is now complete (at last).
- FareArms - Farewell to Arms. Sequenced by Mike Le Voi. It's not perfect yet but it sounds OK, I guess.
- HangOn2K - Hang on to a Dream. The "megamix" version of the earlier version by Ken Taylor and Mike Le Voi. In
this version, I spliced together 7 sections of Ken's "pre-takes" to get an extended solo. Thus, this version does not have
the "Emerson" solo. As Ken was allowed to freely improvise, this one sounds even better :-)
- PebbleXG - Take a Pebble. Benoit Cadot took my version and XGed it :)
- OneByOne - One By One. Sequenced by Gabor Kerenyi.
- TigSpot - Tiger in a Spotlight. Sequenced by Bryan Glasper. GS Mixing by Mike Le Voi.
Also included in this collection:
- Alliwant - All I Want Is You. Sequenced by Ken Taylor. Mixed/Edited by Mike Le Voi.Track 1 of the Love Beach
Album. Note: this is NOT how the track sounds on the album - this is better :-)
- HeartIce - Heart on Ice. Sequenced by Roland Fischer (most of it) and Mike Le Voi (some piano and GS mixing).
- T&GNew - Touch and Go - Manticore version. Sequenced by Gennaro Marchese.
Just a little Xmas collection. I hope to do some more in the new year. Enjoy :-)
- BarrelHs - Barrelhouse Shakedown. Sequenced by Jim Humphrey (Piano and Lead Clarinet) Mike Le Voi (Bass,
Drums, Brass Ensemble, Mix etc). Please destroy the earlier version of this MID file :)
- BlakMoon - Black Moon. Sequenced by Mike Le Voi. Ken Taylor did the opening twiddly bit on piano. This file is
not perfect but who's got the time to finish it? Even this took 6 weeks!
- ABladeOf - A Blade Of Grass. Sequenced by Hal Iwasa.
- ATarkus - AquaTarkus. Sequenced by Hal Iwasa. A superb version which really sounds good on GS equipment!
- BluRondo - Blue Rondo a la Turk. Sorry, this is not Keith's version. This is the Paul Desmond original as found on
the 'Net. I added the Sax part and solo plus the two missing solos from Dave :)
- Improvi - Piano Improvisation. Supplied by Gabor Kerenyi. It's not complete but its damn good so far!
- Interlud - Interlude. From Bruno Cordier. Another Emerson solo. Again, not complete but better than nothing.
- LivinSin - Living Sin. At last! This completes Trilogy. Brilliantly sequenced by Jordi Griso and Salvador Serra. GS
tweaks and some editing by me. Turn it up LOUD.
- Tarkus88 - Tarkus. Supplied by Gabor Kerenyi. An amazing version designed for the Roland SC-88. Incredible!
Still to come - Pictures at an Exhibition - Side 2 of the album - hope it will be done soon ...
- Benny - Benny the Bouncer. Sequenced by Mike and Jos Le Voi. A remix of our earlier version.
- HonkyTnk - Honky Tonk Train Blues. Sequenced by Massimo Astolfi. Superb!
- Jeremy - Jeremy Bender. Sequenced by Mike and Jos Le Voi. A remix of our earlier version. Now includes stereo
clapping if you have XG or GS equipment :-)
- MapleRag - Maple Leaf Rag. Sequenced by Massimo Astolfi. Short but sweet!
- Changing - Changing States. Sequenced by Akihiro Jyuichiya. This version mixed by me for the M-GS64. Just for
interest, the intro is the original arrangement of the song as played on the Changing States CD where it was called
Another Frontier.
- Ch88Pro - Changing States. Original sequence by Akihiro Jyuichiya for the SC-88 Pro. Someone with a SC-88Pro
might like to tell me how this sounds vs my arrangement :)
- Creole - Creole Dance. Sequenced by Massimo Astolfi. At last!
- Picture2 - Pictures at an Exhibition. Side 2 of the album. Sequenced by:
Promenade (Ken Taylor and Gabor Kerenyi)
The Hut of Baba Yaga (Ken Taylor and Mike Le Voi)
The Great Gates of Kiev (Ken Taylor, Mike Le Voi and Gabor Kerenyi)
Nutrocker (Gabor Kerenyi)
Production: Mike Le Voi
Note: This is an "imaginary" version of Side 2. It does not include "Curse of Baba Yaga", which I always considered to be
just a "fill-in". This version has the central bit of Baba Yaga, as composed by Moussorgsky, reinstated as a nice Greg Lake
bass solo.
Also included in this collection:
- WayHome - On my way home. Sequenced by Mike Le Voi and Bruno Cordier. Thanks to Ken for the piano
opening.
Please note: Pictures at an Exhibition was sequenced for Roland GS (SC-88 Pro) and XG modules. If your synth does not
support the XG controllers (for example, CC 71 and CC 74), you will not get the nice "wah-wah" effects :(
Now ready - Emerson plays Emerson
- Pcon1_1 - Piano Concerto No 1, 1st Movement.
- Pcon1_2 - Piano Concerto No 1, 2nd Movement.
- Pcon1_3 - Piano Concerto No 1, 3rd Movement.
All files sequenced by Mike Le Voi. The Orchestral Score was reconstructed from the Two Piano
Version and some helpful hints from a few friends. All files contain some minor errors which do not affect the
overall sound. However, the errors do make it easy for these files to be traced. Don't even think about trying to
reproduce the score from these files!
Note: Will Alexander has asked me to remind you all that these sequences are for private use only.
No
commercial use allowed!
Also included in this collection:
- Rondo69X - Rondo 69, XG version.
- Rondo69G - Rondo 69, GS version.
The XG version was sent to me by Bryan Glasper - sequencer unknown.
Note: All files play back perfectly on a Roland Sound Canvas SC-8850 and include numerous SYSEX stuff to set up
reverb effects, pan, chorus etc. If your synth is not GS/SC-8850 compatible, I'm sorry. The songs also play back fine on
Yamaha XG. The 3rd movement requires a sound module with 64 voice polyphony. Some lesser
sound cards may therefore miss out some of the notes!
PS Go out and buy Keith's CD -"Emerson plays Emerson" - you will enjoy it!
